Dengineers Take Over Field!

tent2Blue Coat's commitment to play remains relentless. Thanks to Tesco Bags scheme funding, our pupils were able to have input into designing their very own 'Dengineering Zone' on our school field. The den building village is intended to allow children to develop their creativity whilst offering the physical, cognitive and social challenges of constructing their own shared structures with friends.

The children were insistent about the inclusion of a platform allowing them to play at height and a series of physical challenges for them to overcome -  such as a slackline to test their balance!

Mrs Murray managed to organise the installation before the Year 6's leave and an official opening ceremony took place earlier in the week with Councillor Cordwell in attendance. The event attracted The Gazette with our Year 6's being snapped on the Dengineering Zone's maiden outing.

This will be a fantastic play opportunity that will give year's of entertainment, challenge and reward for our pupils. It is a small part of a much bigger strategic plan for our school site as we move forward trying to bring about world class play for our pupils.
