Tom Light - Part 1

I ran with all my will. I could feel him gaining pressure on me, abruptly he struck his cane against my back, I screamed in agony and ran for my life. Then with all my will I lurched beyond him, finally I had escaped, just in the nick of time too because it was almost dinner at the orphanage.

My life hadn' t always been as brilliant as I' d hoped. You see when I was four or five my Mum and Dad had abandoned me on the steps of the orphanage and left me there forever. When the maid came to pick up the daily milk she got the shock of her life when she saw me lying on the steps.

Life in the orphanage has been hard for me, because the owner of the orphanage is not all that nice...

Oliver, great entry! Your first paragraph is full of ambitious vocabulary and really engages the reader. I definitely want to find out more - why is he running and where is he running to?

Perhaps you can answer these questions for me next week...
