Children say the funniest things...

TEACHER: Ellen, give me a sentence starting with "I".
ELLEN: I is...
TEACHER: No, Ellen. Always say, "I am."
ELLEN: All right... "I am the ninth letter of the alphabet."

TEACHER: George, go to the map and find North America.
GEORGE: Here it is!
TEACHER: Correct. Now, class, who discovered America?
CLASS: George!

TEACHER: How can you prevent diseases caused by biting insects?
JOSH: Don't bite any.

Teachers usually have a question and response session as part of a lesson (see quotations above!); and whilst this provides the opportunity for individual children to respond to the teacher, the use of 'talk partners' as a strategy means that everybody gets the opportunity to think, discuss and express themselves. In Class India we are striving to be a 'talk partner' class and to help us do this as well as we can we have created a speaking and listening agreement. Here it is:
