A trip through time

Last week Y3/4 experienced a trip through time as we travelled to the Dr Who exhibition in Cardiff Bay, Wales, together with a visit to the old and new buildings used by the Welsh parliament which supported this term's topic 'Time and Space, Earth and Place'.

First of all, we went on a Dr Who adventure with the current Doctor, Matt Smith, leading us through various scenes and settings, such as the inside of the Tardis and  meeting all sorts of deadly enemies such as the Daleks! 'It was so cool'' said Daisy. 'I was so excited when the Daleks appeared,' said Jo, 'They made me jump!'

After the adventure tour, we had a good look at all the costumes, monsters, gadgets, props and sets on exhibition on two levels in the huge building. 'I thought the Abzorbaloff (the monster designed by a 9yr old boy) was quite funny,' said Will T., whilst Will M said he enjoyed recording his voice to sound like a cyberman!

After lunch we walked to the nearby Pierhead building and watched a video about how Cardiff Bay has changed over time. It was certainly very busy as a large port transporting Welsh coal in times gone by. Across the way, we entered the modern Senedd building (after a intense security check!) and enjoyed an interesting talk from a guide who told us about the Welsh parliament.

Overall we thought the trip was 'great' (Olivia), 'awesome' (Bradley), 'cool' (Tom) and 'epic' !(Sam).
