Wishing you all a fit and healthy (and happy) New Year!

Our new topic to start the New Year is called 'Health and Fitness' and offers lots of opportunities to get active and learn about our bodies. The official launch takes place on Monday afternoon (14th Jan) with a fun, but physical, exercise 'Boot Camp'. Children will need to bring lots of warm layers of sports clothing to wear outdoors, together with their trainers (for a potentially cold, muddy afternoon on the field!) which they will change into after lunch. All children will also need to make sure they have a named water bottle with them too!

Another main feature of this term's work, focussing on the body, requires children to prepare some project work at home. The project is aimed at producing resources that will help KS1 children understand about the body and show what has been learned this term in our science related work. Each child has been given an area to focus on and it is up to them whether they make a model, a booklet, a poster, a powerpoint presentation, a story, a dance or a collection of things to show what they have learned and help a KS1 child to understand it too. We would like to see a preview of their homework on 25th January so please make sure all work prepared is in school on that date!

The final exhibition will take place on Friday 8th February (the last day of term) and we will be inviting parents, as well as KS1 children, to view our efforts!
