Flowers and Insects!

Hi everyone,

I really hope you've had a lovely week off and are well-rested and feeling ready to come back to school! We have an exciting term ahead and are particuarly looking forward to our class worship on Friday 13th June! Hopefully t-shirt/bottoms request letters made their way home to you all in the last week of term. Mrs Dove and I plan to do some making with the children over the next couple of weeks, to add a few more details to the costumes.

This term, in IPC we are carrying on our learning about plants and flowers, whilst introducing insects and minibeasts too! The children have already planned some model flowers, which they hope (if they were real!) would be attractive to pollinators. Over the next week the children will be making their models and evaluating them.

In maths we are focussing on sorting and organising data, whilst also practising some number facts and mental maths with an adult.

In English we are going to be reading 'What the Ladybird Heard' by Julia Donaldson. This story includes some interesting language choices including rhyming words and onomatopoeia. We will be attempting to adapt and include these techniques in our own writing.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and hearing about your holidays!

Miss Fisher
