Magnificent Magnets, Buoyant Boats, Hurtling Helicopters and Shocking Static Electricity!

Last Monday we were fortunate enough to have a visit from Sky's dad who explained to milepost 1 children the importance of saving energy. The children loved it and found out lots of information. Many thanks to Mr. P for coming in.

On Friday morning Matthew's mum prepared a fantastic morning of science workshops based around forces. Activities ranged from magnetism and static electricity, through to buoyancy and air resistance - but all at the children's level, hands- on and plenty of opportunity to explore. The children learnt so much and we're looking forward to following up next week, as the children had lots of questions about their learning! A big thank you to Mrs. P and the many parent helpers who made our morning so fantastic!

Last week we began our new writing genre - non-chronological reports! We have been finding out about the features we need to include in our own writing and have been enjoying finding out lots of new facts! We will continue report writing over the next couple of weeks.

In maths we have been revisiting measure; estimating weight and capacity, measuring accurately with a ruler (to the nearest cm and mm) and writing stories including the puzzling language of measure! We will continue with this throughout the week, before moving on to collecting and sorting data.
