Forest School Begins This Week!

Hooray! I know you will all be very excited for Wednesday as you will once again be enjoying forest school sessions with Mr Brooks! Although we are now in the summer term, please make sure you are well prepared for all weather! Forest school will be on Wednesday mornings for the next 4 weeks. Thank you to those parents who have already volunteered their help. We still need some helpers for April 24th and May 8th. Please come and see me if you would like to volunteer - thank you!

I hope you have all had a chance to have a look at our new Home Learning Grid for the term. The format is the same as last term, in that children can choose one activity per week. Please do not hesitate to come and see me if you have any queries.

Last week the children wrote some very impressive postcards, discussing the geographical features of Wotton! Children, can you remember some of the different physical and human features we thought of?

This week we will be continuing the use of collage to recreate images from holiday destinations. We will also be thinking about different climates and deciding on what we would pack for different holiday destinations.

In maths we will be finishing off shape by identifying symmetry and angles, before moving on to using number facts (number bonds, mulitplication/division facts, doubling/halving, etc.)

In English we will continue with traditional tales, this week with a focus on describing different settings. We will be using interesting language and punctuation choices to develop our writing.

Finally, just a reminder, for our class worship I would like to use a few photographs of some children at their favourite holiday destinations. If you have got a great holiday snap that you would be happy to tell the school about, please bring it in or email it via the school website.

A big thank you to Elizabeth for your great holiday photos.

See you all tomorrow!
