The Week Ahead...

Hello everyone!

This week promises to be another busy week, with parent consultations, red nose day and a special red-nosed visitor!

In English we are continuing to look at stories from other cultures. The children will be planning an alternative ending to the story of 'Handa's Surprise'. They will be encouraged to use interesting language, including powerful verbs and adverbs, and wow words, to describe objects and events in their endings.

In maths we are looking at angles in some shapes that we know and some unfamiliar shapes. Some children will be finding right angles in the environment around them, whilst some might be investigating whether an angle is smaller or bigger than a right angle.

In IPC we will be continuing with circus-themed P.E lessons; this week focusing on some animals that might have been seen in the circus. We will also be using computers to create our final versions of a map of a circus, using shape, colour and text. The children will also begin to think about designing and making a moving circus character; planning carefully the tools and materials they may need.
