Let's keep celebrating!

I do hope you all had a great holiday and feel ready for what promises to be a very exciting term!

Tomorrow we are having a launch day for Key Stage 1, providing a day of fun activities linked with the celebration of Bonfire Night. Please come dressed as you normally would for a Monday (P.E clothing). We have planned a carousel of activities aimed at helping the children understand why and how we celebrate Bonfire Night. Amongst other things it involves eating and dancing so I'm sure it will be a hit!

Our English learning is based around the story of 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' by Judith Kerr. We will be spending the next 3 weeks taking part in a range of fun activities helping us gain a good understanding of the story and planning our own stories about an animal that comes to tea.

In maths we will be calculating 1 more and 2 more than a number and 1 less and 2 less than a number. We will also be partitioning the number 10, (learning all the different ways we can make 10 e.g. 0+10, 1+9, 2+8)

Our Celebrations unit will take us up to the end of this term and we will be focussing in particular on the following celebrations - Bonfire Night, weddings, Hannukah, and Christmas. This week we will be sending out another Home Learning Grid which support much of the learning going on in class this term.

Quick reminder...Thursday 6th November is the last Forest School session for this term.

Finally, as the weather is so changeable at the moment please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing to school - unless it's raining heavily we try and get the children outside for playtime whenever we can!

Many thanks.
