Thanks for your help!

Our World Book Day went so well last week, the children looked amazing - a big thank you for providing the most wonderful costumes. The children proudly talked about their character and had a great time parading, listening to a local story teller, book swapping, and in the afternoon listening to Mrs. Marsland who visited Class Livingstone to share her favourite Bible story that reflects Jesus as a leader.

This week will be our final forest school session and it will be on Friday. We hope to have a fire and cook damper bread...always a highlight with both children and helpers!

We will be writing our traditional stories this week in our literacy lessons. Our focus has been Jack and the Beanstalk and the children will write the beginning, middle and end of the story over 3 days, giving them time to think about what makes each part successful.

In maths, the children will be working independently on subtraction and their focussed adult led maths will focus on counting forwards and backwards from any number up to 30 in 1's; counting forwards and backwards in 10's from any multiple of 10; and count forwards and backwards in 2's from any number between 0 and 20. We will also be recapping postional language, including left and right (something that counld be reinforced at home) and finding one half or one quarter of a shape and a set of objects.

Grace Darling will help the children learn about the life of a famous Victorian and we will continue to investigate light sources in science. Finally, you will hear this week about our exciting visit planned to the Black Country Museum! What a busy week!
