Victorian Day
What a fantastic day Class Egypt had traveling back to the Victorian Era. Their costumes were great so thank you to all their Mums and Dads. We had six different Victorian experiences. We visited a Victorian classroom where Mr Clements taught the 3 Rs. They also made rock cakes in the Victorian kitchen with Mrs Dove. They enjoyed playing with Victorian toys and playing playground games with Mrs Merrikin. Apparently most of the children preferred Victorian toys and games to their computer games, that should make Christmas and Birthdays much cheaper! Mrs Goodship worked them hard in the scullery where they cleaned Mrs Goodship's classroom until it sparkled! They also had an opportunity to find out about the past using the Internet and by looking at artefacts.
We must thank all the staff and parents who made this day memorable. We must also send a big thank you to the Museum in the Park for the loan of their topic boxes plus many more artefacts that they would usually use in the museum. The museum is great, they often have family activities running and it's free, although they will always except a donation. It can make a great day out set in Stratford Park, Stroud so if you have not visited the Museum before it is well worth a visit.
