Gingerbread man on the run.....
Wow, we've finished our big Gingerbread Man picture! He was last seen running through our classroom, hotly pursued by a litle old lady, a little old man, a horse, a pig and a cat. Watch out everyone, I think that's the fox I can see too!
Next week we will be doing some running away of our own; through the school grounds, using all of our senses to see what we can see, hear, feel, smell (but maybe not taste!) as we pretend to be the Gingerbread Man. Afterwards we will be doing some writing about our walk, to label pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing the children using all their new sound knowledge to try making some words.
There has been some help on hand for the Gingerbread Man this week as we have been experimenting with some different objects which float and could carry him away from that pesky fox! Not all our objects were successful however, so we have learnt lots about what sinks as well!
I have been very impressed with everyone's sound knowledge this week as I have been checking to see how much everyone has remembered. Next week I will be looking at tricky words as well as sounding out and blending. See if you can share your tricky word books at home so that you're ready to show off to me!
Have a great weekend everyone and see you on Monday!
