Fresh air and lots of exercise!

A tired but happy class walked back from the church today after enjoying a lovely Harvest celebration with the rest of the school. we were all very pleased to walk and sit with our buddies who were a great help.

It was our second walk of the week following the very successful search for print in our local streets. We have some very fine detectives indeed, who found all sorts of writing on the ground, up high and even moving about on cars and buses!  I wonder how many sorts of writing you might be able to spot while you are out and about this week? I understand from the comments that there was some wildlife spotting too; I missed the rat but we did see a very 'sleepy' frog!

Its been a week of fresh air for us because we also had our first Forest School session. Mr Brooks was very impressed with our good listening skills and with how many children remembered the rules from their Toggles sessions. There was a lot of den building, nest building and digging which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Wow, what fantastic readers we have in our class! We had lots of lovely stories about Biff and Chip which I am sure you will all hear at home this week. If you have any other good stories at home, perhaps you could try spotting some of our sounds in them or using the pictures to tell the story? If you have 'The Gingerbread Man' we would love to hear about it because we will be learning to tell the story with actions next term. I wonder how many different versions of that story you know?

Our story telling skills were also put to the test this week as we retold The Little Red Hen story in the classroom and had it written down for us. The stories make for very entertaining reading!

Well its time for us to take a well earned rest after all our hard work. We have made such good progress, settling in to school so well. Have a lovely holiday everyone and we look forward to seeing you all soon, ready for lots more fun and learning!
