Articles opera!

This week we have continued learning about the variety of jobs people do. We were fortunate enough to have visits from Mrs. Bohannon and Laura Clark. Mrs. Bohannon explained all about the job of a vet. We were lucky enough to perform an operation on Boris the was successful and he is now feeling much better! It was great to handle lots of different things vets use such as a stethoscope, surgeon's hat and to see some of the things vets have to deal with such as tapeworms and ticks! Laura is an opera singer. She talked about the different parts she's played and sang a range of songs to us ranging from Mozart arias to popular songs from The Lion King and Jungle Book. It was fascinating to hear how her love of music developed into a career. Well done also to Mrs. Moir for some excellent sight reading! A huge thank you to both Mrs. Bohannon and Laura for coming in.

Last week was also parent consultation week. This is always such a good opportunity for me to let you know how your child is progressing, but I learn so much from you too. It's been great to hear how keen the children are to read and write at home. Thank you for all your support with their learning.

Next week we will be learning about all things science related. We have planned many exciting activities such as dissolving, floating and sinking and lifting and carrying challenges. Our engineer for the week, Simon Oldacres from Renishaws will be joining us tomorrow as we begin making our Grand Prix racing cars. We are all very excited!!
