Trip Trap Trip the Reception Cake Sale!

We are well under way with our new topic, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Last week saw some excellent fence building, comparing different lengths and using appropriate language such as longer than, shorter than, longest and shortest to describe their fences.

We have thoroughly enjoyed learning the story, and can now tell it with expression and with a range of interesting voices. (Try not to scare your family too  much when you get to the troll parts!)

Next week promises to be very exciting, with the first cake sale ever held by the Reception classes. Our buddies will be joining us on Wednesday to make cakes to sell on Thursday. If you are able to provide cakes for the sale, please bring them in on Thursday morning (all the details are in the letter sent home earlier last week). A huge THANK YOU in advance for your support!  Also, if your child would like to buy any of the cakes, they are welcome to do so. The 'Design a troll' competition sheets are available from Monday, costing 20p. Winners announced on Friday afternoon.

If you would like more information about our fund raising. please take a look at the Oxfam Unwrapped website.

Finally, the children will be able to tell you all about our 'Manners Alert'! We are working hard to think of others before ourselves, particularly when lining up or collecting things from our drawers. Well done children, keep it up!
