Welcome Back!

We have had a very enthusiastic start to 2012, returning from our holiday with boundless energy and keen to learn!

On Thursday we 'launched' our Chinese New Year topic, learning a little about China, the Chinese calendar and signs of the zodiac. We discovered that children born in 2006 were born in the year of the dog, and 2007 was the year of the pig. We made great masks that we will be using over the next few weeks as we learn more about the celebrations. This year is the year of the dragon, and we look forward to making a dragon head ready for our celebration dance. Below, you can see masks being made and a wonderful 2D shape dragon!

Today, Word Bags have gone home. In the blue zip wallet you will find sets of words to sound out and blend. It is an opportunity to practise specific words and the all important blending which can be tricky. Words are usually changed on Fridays, but please keep them in the book bag and bring to school daily.

A quick reminder about P.E kits-please make sure your child has their kit in school as soon as possible as we have already started our apparatus lessons. Thank you.
