April 2019 Newsletter

We have had a busy term in the unit and are all looking forward to the Easter break. Hopefully we will have some more of the beautiful warm days that we had last week to get out and about.

Busy Bees Year 6 cooking

Highlights this term have included the completion of Year 6 cooking activities in Busy Bees. The Busy Bees children in year 6 can earn, through good behaviour, the treat of baking/cooking something for themselves. This year the children all chose cakes, all of which were lavishly decorated!

Reminders

Please do not drive onto the school site unless you are collecting a sick child.

Dogs should not be brought into school.

Invoices are being sent out this week, so please look out for them.

Busy Bees will start at 2.30 on Friday (5th April) with Toggles continuing in the other room until 3pm.

Busy Bees changes – Please ring 01453 525022 if you need to book/change your Busy Bees booking for the same day. Jo works part time and generally does not work on Fridays.

Sand

We are grateful to Ian Pullen and Mike Davies for the supply and delivery of sand to refill our sandpit. The task could not have been completed without the help of Mark Schofield and Tim Serle, so many thanks from all the staff and children.

Staff News

Staff held a farewell tea party for Caroline Lee last week (which the Friday Busy Bees were able to attend) where she was presented with flowers and gifts. We wish Caroline all the best in her next adventure and thank her for everything she has done for Pre-School & Busy Bees over the last 16 years!

On our return after the holidays the Manager’s role will be undertaken by Vicky Starling with Teresa Schofield as the Pre-School Deputy. We wish them all well with their changing roles.

We now have a vacancy for an Assistant for Pre-School & Busy Bees. If you are interested in further information please contact Jo, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 07873 890689.

Thanks

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to my leaving presents, baked cakes, helped with my tea party and made it such a lovely occasion.  I have had a hugely enjoyable time working in the unit and will miss the fabulous staff and children. All the best Caroline.
