Blue Coat Pre-School Newsletter - January 2013

2013-01-30 02.57.34 pmHappy New Year. We hope that you all had a good break over Christmas and the New Year and that you are looking forward to the year ahead.  We would like to welcome in particular the families who are new to Pre-School.

As usual this newsletter will be a mixed bag of bits of information, however please remember that the Pre-School section of the school website is kept up to date with information such as parent rotas and news.

Christmas Celebrations

We hope that you all enjoyed the Christmas crafts that the children made for you and for those who were able to attend, enjoyed watching the Wriggly Nativity. If you have any comments about our Christmas activities (positive or negative) staff are always happy to receive feedback.   The staff would like to thank the Parent Fundraising Group for once again paying for Liz Martin to come along and help us to learn and perform our songs.

A big thank you to all the parents and children who brought cards and presents in for the staff. They were very much appreciated.

Themes

This term we will be exploring the cold weather, snow and ice, animals that live in cold climates, feeding the birds and whatever directions the children take us with their own interests.

Forest School

Forest School will take place this term for the Toggles children on a Friday (25th Jan, 1st Feb, 8th Feb, 22nd Feb, 8th Mar, 15th Mar) with our training Forest School leader Michelle. Please remember to provide the children with the clothing outlined in the information letter.

Outdoor Play

We play outside every day at Pre-School regardless of the weather. Please ensure that your child has a hat and gloves/mittens and where possible these are named.  We do have a couple of spare items but not enough for everyone.

It has been extremely cold recently and the children do get cold quickly if they do not have enough layers of clothes. If you travel by car where many layers are not needed please bring extra clothes to put on at Pre-School.

Lunch Boxes

A reminder to parents of children who stay for lunch: please do not include nuts (in any form, including peanut butter), or kiwi fruit. To avoid upsetting mix ups please could you name your child’s lunch box as many children have the same ones.

Car Park – Reminder from School

Parents/childminders should not to drive into the school car park unless they are collecting a sick child.

wowWOW News

We have set up a new email account just for your WOW news and in particular WOW photos.  If you wish to forward WOW info to us please use This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
