Year 5 Pupils' CAT Scores Available for Parents

I mentioned in the Head's Tweet module that we have received this year's Year 5 Cognitive Ability Test scores back. The tests are used to assess children's reasoning in 3 areas: Verbal, Quantitative and Non-verbal...

These areas are closely linked to English, Maths and Science. We use the tests as one piece of the jigsaw in a very large data picture we collate of each child as they progress through the school. Primarily, they can indicate predicted outcomes at end of Year 6, but we tend to use them to ensure that children are fulfilling their potential and also flag any specific learning needs that have previously gone undetected i.e. dyslexia. For more information about the format of the tests and what your child's scores mean then please contact me and I'll be happy to share them with you.
