Job Vacancy: F/T KS1 Teacher (Maternity Leave)

2015 01 06 10.22.01 am“The most important single factor influencing learning is what the learner already knows. Ascertain this and teach him [or her] accordingly”
~Ausubel, 1968 p. vi”

[...but you already knew that... didn’t you?]

This principle applies equally to the pupils in our school as much as it does our teaching staff. For that matter, personalisation is a critical ingredient in moving closer to the Blue Coat vision of ‘Future Ready’.

But any vision is just window dressing if it is not lived out. In light of this we:

-invest in our pupils as thinkers who own their learning
-ensure learning extends to playtimes (“UK’s best school for play” – 2019)
-strive for a diverse, relevant and unique wider curriculum experience
-make teacher professional development rich, frequent and personalised

We are looking for an open-minded teacher who embraces this perspective and is hungry to extend what they know as a valued member of our teaching team in Key Stage 1.

Join us to debate teaching and learning, shape your own professional development, and enjoy pushing the boundaries of what children can know, do and understand.

This is a maternity leave post for up to 12 months, beginning in September 2019, in a full-time class teacher role. The salary for this post is Main Scale and is, therefore, suitable and open to all teachers to apply.
