Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs): Information for Parents

test clip art ncB88RjcAAs we approach May, primary school calendars nationally highlight the Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs) for pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 classes.

The tests have had several revisions over recent years, some of which were covered in our Maths meeting for parents. The Government has produced some information for parents in both a handout and video format. These can be accessed below:

Teachers have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare the children for these assessments in a way that hopes to reduce anxiety, raise confidence and enable them to perform to the best of their potential. We're very proud of how both our young and eldest learners have been taking responsibility for their learning during this period with mature attitudes.

For Year 2's, the assessments are not timed and go at the pace of the learner throughout the month of May. Teachers will make arrangements so as to ease the children through the process such that they're comfortable yet conforming to the strict regulations that they must adhere to.

For Year 6's, testing happens on week beginning 8th May and must follow the timetable:

2017 04 26 09.16.56 am

Results will be shared with parents of pupils sitting the tests in the final weeks of the summer term.

For further information not covered in the above links, please speak to your child's class teacher or a senior leader.

Good luck, everyone!
