Cross-country County Success!

6cp6pRA9iFollowing the success of last year's cross country 'clean sweep', our children have taken to the fields over the past weeks and months in an attempt to uphold the school's title of District Champions. However, we didn't do quite enough this year, despite best efforts, and finished as runners up.

Most recently, successful finishers from the district races qualified for the regional finals in Newent. 3 (senior) children from Blue Coat qualified and did brilliantly. What follows is a short report from 2 of our participating pupils - well done all of you!

"On the 19th of March, 2016 the whole of the region got together for the county cross country event in Newent. The boys race kicked off first and the long hard race began.

There were around 60 boys competing therefore the race was challenging and very hard to win. Wotton and Dursley came a respectable 1st and 3rd followed by Blue Coat's Archie in 49th.

In the end Wotton and Dursley boys came second.

Soon the girls race started - from the start Lena zoomed into 4th place but after that came Zoe in 7th. As the race progressed Lena overtook everyone and came a fantastic 1st place. Zoe came close with 7th.

Overall Wotton and Dursley came 1st."
