Cathedral Class Act for Blue Coat Girls

IMG 5042Friday evening saw Gloucester Cathedral open its doors to a slightly more diverse crowd than usual. The Sainsburys School Games Celebration Ceremony was hosted both in and around the cathedral in honour of celebrating those who have represented their school in the Gloucestershire School Games over 2014-15. This involved the place of worship being turned into a haven for BMX bandits, skaters, dancers, cheerleaders, musicians, archers and gymnasts!

The opportunity to perform in this formidable space was limited to a strict application process. Miss Price has trained and nurtured a talented group of performers this year in her Year 1&2 after-school Performing Arts club. The group successfully performed at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts earlier in the year, winning awards in the process. The group also did enough to be selected for Friday's event and took to the stone floors to deliver a brilliant dance to the backing of music entitled 'Finding Neverland'.

Supported by an onlooking crowd of parents and staff, the girls did a brilliant job of representing the school - we're very proud of all of them.

Thank you to parents for supporting on the evening and to Miss Price for all of her hard work, belief and championing of the Performing Arts at Blue Coat.
