A Nose for Raising Money

Comic-Relief-2015-Red-Noses-1Inclement weather couldn't even dampen our spirits on the day where 'FUNNY = MONEY". Our children smiled their way through the rain clouds this morning to set up shop in the school hall at short notice and raise money for Comic Relief.

Funny faces was the theme, of which there were plenty! Our children got creative with make-up, hair dye/styles/accessories and all sorts of props to raise smiles whilst raising cash for the good cause.

Yesterday in collective worship, we reflected on Tom Wharin's words from his worship held in school a few weeks ago: "Love God and Love One Another." These are the fundamentals by which most Christians live their lives. So, today we vowed to focus on the second part by seeing how much money we could raise to take care of other people in more need than us.

Our Year 6's have unofficially disclosed a rolling total of over £600 so far! Fantastic efforts everyone. The day will end with a 'funny face' sing-along in the hall, as well as the infamous prize-giving from our pupils' charity stalls.

Enjoy some of the highlights in pictures and a big 'thank you' to all families for showing such generous support...
