Stroke of Genius!

img-thingThis morning, Key Stage 2 pupils took part in a district Swimming Gala attended by 6 schools at Dursley Pool. Blue Coat has previous form in this sporting event so anticipation was high...

40(!) races made up the gala, including both medley and freestyle relays. Races were segregated into Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 with boys and girls racing separately. We notched up high placings and fast times in a very large majority of the races, including the team relays. It was obvious that we had talented Blue Coat teams eager to win.

Following the final relays, the results were promptly announced and Year 3&4 pupils reprsented the school proudy by narrowly missing 1st place by a point (44 points) and grabbing silver position. Trinity School won the Year 3&4 overall.

But for our Year 5&6 team they weren't content in settling for anything but gold and won by some margin of 10 points (this included relays being won almost by a leg in both boys' and girls' relays). The standard was phenomenal and the teamwork was inspiring.

A big 'thank you' to those parent who helped with transport to and from the venue. In addition, we'd like to thank Mrs Sharron Bates for her continued dedication to offering sports events within the local areas for our pupils to enjoy and achieve in.

Well done to all of the school's swimming 'champions':

Y3/4: Tom E, Eliza R, James Be., Alice H, Dylan L, Sian D, Alfie W, Katy T, Lucy T

Y5/6: Olivia B, Dylan A, Hattie R, Joseph M, Syd R, George T, Millie M, Otto BR,

The times show just how well our swimmers did:
