The waterfall castle

The dark gray castle clings on to the icy cold cliff face like a crab trying to get away from its pray. The sheer mountain stretches up into the sky above and the castle looks down over the landscape of icy trees below. The rocks where the castle sits are so sheer that the snow can’t settle. It is surrounded by snow capped mountains. A huge waterfall thunders out of the mouth of the castle and crashes hundreds of meters below. The waterfall looks like a long white beard. Two tall towers point up into the clouds. It has ramparts surrounding the castle and many tiny windows.

Very good, Jamie. The vocabulary, simile, and the way you guide the reader through the scene is really effective. I love this bit: "The rocks where the castle sits are so sheer that the snow can’t settle."
Keep up the creative work!
