The Halleluiah Mountains

Today in class India we wrote a small paragragh about a setting from the film 'Avatar'. This is the piece I wrote:

The Halleluiah Mountains are a series of amazing floating mountains on the moon Pandora, a moon orbiting the planet Polythemus, 4.4 light years away from the planet earth. With strange beauty the mountains float in the air, constantly moving through the dream-like landscape, the sound of earth falling (from the underneath of the mountains) can be heard from miles round. Long and thick, the vines that stretch across the savage terrain are as long as ten suspension bridges, end to end although they are smooth and leafy, with a fresh smell floating around. In the calm blue sky, the ghostly planets seem static above as if their floating marbles with breath-taking patterns swirling repeatedly round. Also in the air are wisps of clouds that float randomly around the sky.

Why don't you post a descriptive settings about one of these pictures:

Jude, this is a fantastic piece of writing - some of the best you've produced this year - keep it up!

Effective descriptive writing, Jude. I'd say it just needs some prepositional phrases to guide the reader around the landscape a little bit to take it to that next level. Well done!
