Let's Celebrate!

I hope you had a lovely half term and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting, busy few weeks ahead!

Tomorrow we are having a launch day for Key Stage 1, providing a day of fun activities linked with the celebration of Bonfire Night. Please come dressed as you normally would for a Monday (P.E clothing). We have planned a carousel of activities aimed at helping the children understand why and how we celebrate Bonfire Night. Amongst other things it involves eating and dancing so I'm sure it will be a hit!

Our English learning is based around fantasy stories. We will be spending the next 3 weeks taking part in a range of fun writing activities, helping us gain a good understanding of a variety of fantasy stories.

In maths we will be adding and subtracting near multiples of 10 e.g. 11 and 21. We will also be looking at the relationship between halving and doubling.

Our Celebrations unit will take us up to the end of this term and we will be focussing in particular on the following celebrations - Bonfire Night, weddings, Hannukah, and Christmas. This week we will be sending out another Home Learning Grid which support much of the learning going on in class this term.

Finally, as the weather is so changeable at the moment please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing to school - unless it's raining heavily we try and get the children outside for playtime whenever we can!

Many thanks.
