Trip trap trip

Welcome back everyone! It was lovely to see you all again refreshed after your break. We have begun our new topic and now goats are top of our agenda! On Wednesday morning the children were slightly bemused but definately excited to see all their familiar school adults transform into the Three Billy Goats Gruff, with a very scary performance from Mrs Goodship as the troll! We trip trap tripped over the bridge, much to the amusement of anyone passing by the hall and the children were a fantastic audience!

As a result, we will now be comparing different versions of the story, building bridges, growing grass from seed, meeting some real goats (we hope to have some visiting), looking after goats and other animals in our veterinary surgeries and meeting a real vet - thank you to Harry's Mum!

We will also be designing our own trolls and trying to help the troll become a little friendlier by giving him some ideas about how to be more kind, generous and caring! we may even try out some of these ideas for ourselves in the playground and in the classroom.

Good behaviour is to be a real focus this term, with some new rewards and treats for children who make a real effort to be sensible, caring and hard working members of our class. We have already begun earning house points which is very exciting.

Thank you to all of you who brought us collections of shells, pine cones and other natural objects. We hope to use them for lots of outdoor learning as the weather hopefully improves. We are beginning to make plans for some new developments in our outdoor area and will let you know our progress. It was really useful hearing all your creative ideas for outdoor learning, so thank you for all your responses to the questionnaire.
