Don't Forget...

This week we have been discovering about and researching impressionist painters.  Here is one of the most famous impressionist paintings by Claude Monet.

Do you like it?  What is your favourite impressionist painting?  Post your own blog and include an image.   Are you sure the picture you've chosen is impressionist? Tell us why you like it and a bit about the artist.  I'll start off with my favourite.  SB

My favourite impressionist is Paul Cezanne.  He joined the impressionists but then developed his own ideas and is usually called a post-impressionist (post means to come after.) This is my favourite of his painitings.

It is called L'Estaque and was painted between 1883–1885.  Paul Cezanne was born in 1839 in the south of France and died in 1906. I like it because of the strong colours and the way he captures the sense of bright sunshine, summer and the time of day.

I love the Monet. I have been to his garden at Giverney and seen the water lilies for real. I can see why Monet found his garden such an inspiration.
