### Don't Forget...

In maths we were talking about how to do maths quickly here are some examples of things that we have been learning that we have to know instantly, for example:

- how many weeks are in a year
- number bonds up to 10, 20, 50, 100, 1000
- quick times tables
- how many days are in a year
- hours in a day
- minutes in an hour
- degrees in a right angle

Tom taught us how you do your nine times tables.

- you put your hands down on the table.
- for example if it was nine times 2 you would put your second finger down on your left hand.
- then you count the fingers to the left of the finger you have put down, these are your tens.
- now you count the fingers after the finger you put down, these are your units
- and then you put your tens and units together to get your answer.

Have you got any suggestions for other quick maths facts we should know?

Jacob had this trick for number bonds to 20!
