Don't Forget...

....school term ends on Friday 15th December at 2.30pm

Over the last couple of weeks children have been learning how to write letters of persuasion. This week they are working in groups on writing a letter of complaint to the pest control officer about the Three Billy Goats.  The following piece has been written by Stan, Ed, Hattie and Connie…it is still unfinished but they have done an excellent job so far…they do go on a bit though!

Dear Pest Control Officer,

I’m writing to ask for your help, there are three hideous pests that have been crossing my bridge with out my permission for the past week. I would be grateful if you could help move them on.

Firstly, I’ve had no sleep since last Thursday because their rock solid hooves are constantly clip-clopping over the old bridge. They make an awful clanging noise.

My next point is it is very expensive to buy head ache tablets and medicines because I have been having terrible head aches due to the noise of their horrible clipping noise. Do you think all my savings are worth it?

Thirdly, all the solid stones are falling on my head and are causing me great head pains and I’ve also run out of bandages to stop the bleeding so I have blood trickling down my for head like a rain drop hits a post box. Do you think this is good behaviour?

Further more, I pay several hundred pounds for the tax, to get it decorated, and for the Cotswold stone, all that just because of the 3 devastating animals.

Another point is I pay a fare amount of money on the energy bills because I put new lights up to make the bridge look pretty and already some of the glass covering has been smashed.

Stan, Ed, Connie and Hattie: you persuaded me! Lots of very clear, imaginative and compelling reasons for The 3 Billy Goats to start learning how to swim their way over the crossing! Well done.
