Don't Forget...

I have enjoyed doing story writing in class and have written my own short piece:

The castle siege

It started without warning! The fire and the never ending carnage. I was asleep in my quarters when they attacked. I ran to the stairs to see what was going on. When I got to the top of the chipped and cold staircase I had to hack my way through a fallen tapestry to reach the firing area I had been assigned to, for I was a fire archer, my job was to burn the catapults and their mechanics, before protecting the foot soldiers and the cavalry in their attack. I did my first job without fail but when I had to protect the soldiers I faltered. I saw a dead body. It was someone I knew. I went mad with rage and sorrow and started shooting everything I saw, friend or foe. And then it went black.

Why not have a go at writing a short story based on one of these pictures?

Joe, well done for posting - a really good piece! 5TPs for you. I look forward to other people adding their own short stories inspired by your chosen pictures.

I ran, as quickly as I could through the dark murky forest. I came to a clearing; there it was the house my Dad had warned me about. But why would I listen to him, he`s old and gone mad, who knows what he’s thinking about? I crept up the spooky steps that crumbled away as I cautiously took another step closer, towards the haunted house. The inside of the house was cold and it sent a freezing shiver down my spine as I hopped up the staircase in the far corner of the strange room. Great, I thought this place doesn’t even have heating, that, was the least of my worries. Suddenly I heard a loud screech from behind me, a small girl, who was about seven years old, stood in the doorway, licking an ice pop continuously only stopping to send out a loud screech every few minutes.

Lauren - a great paragraph! Really engaging start and the introduction of the little girl makes me want to read on to find out more about her and this strange house. Will you write the next bit of the story? Or maybe someone else could take your start and carry it on? I await the next installment with baited breath...
