Looking forward to Christmas? Starting to think about what gifts to get for your family? Beginning to write your own Christmas wish list?! Well, in order to help, each of us in class India are going to write a short article about one of our favourite books. Reading these comments should provide you with plenty of ideas for presents (and maybe, if you’re lucky this Christmas, even for yourself!)

This is homework for the children in class India (deadline: Wednesday 14th December). Your article needs to be at least 250 words. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

1. Introduce the book – tell us the title and the author.
2. Summarise the content – provide an overview (for a non-fiction book) or review the storyline (being careful NOT to reveal anything that would spoil the ending!)
3. Explore your reaction - for example, what did you particularly like about the book? How did it make you feel? Who would really enjoy reading it? Why?
4. Briefly conclude – draw your article to a neat close.

I really look forward to reading your recommendations!

Well done to class India! Everyone completed their book reviews, and many of them contain some excellent writing! I have been persuaded to put several of the books on my Christmas list and I can't wait to read them.
