Don't Forget...

....school term ends on Friday 15th December at 2.30pm

Tuesday at 3:42pm

Our week began with a big focus on mathematical language. We have been learning words to describe the position of an object, such as above, below and behind. We are very good at understanding these words, and are beginning to use them (which is a lot harder!) The Gingerbread Man helped us by hiding in our outside classroom, and we described where we found him using those special words.

In the last blog I mentioned that we were going to help the Gingerbread Man cross the river. We came up with great ideas such as floating him across in a bucket, flying him in an aeroplane and some of us made some wonderful bridges. All much safer than travelling on the nose of a fox!

We have started learning the words and actions of the Gingerbread Man story, so it won't be long before the children are recounting the story to you at home.

Still on the Gingerbread Man theme, we have had fun bubble printing this week. The aim is to make a big picture of the story, using lots of different art techniques. The bubble prints are going to become part of the sky. Next week we're using cones to scrape patterns into paint for the hills. Apologies if your child went home rather blue and spotty!

Finally, Christmas is beckoning and our musical nativity, Whoops-a-Daisy Angel! is well under way. We have learnt all the songs now, so next week will begin pratising performing in the hall. The children have been told who they are going to be, but don't worry if they haven't told you yet. We will be sending home letters on Monday with information about costumes, head gear, dates etc. We really appreciate your help with this aspect of the performance, and the children always look fabulous.
